WWE's 25th Annual Royal Rumble

The Pay-Perview starts right off with the triple threat Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Big Show, Mark Henry, and Daniel Bryan start off the night right with Bryan trying to make quick escapes. Henry and Show halt Bryan from escaping the cage several times, leading to him eventually hitting some of his signatures on both challengers. Each time Henry or Show begin to work on Bryan the other interferes giving Bryan the chance to escape. Most of the moves inflicted to Bryan are by Big Show due to the recent storylines with AJ's "injury". Bryan goes for pinfalls, and tries making Show submit to the LeBell Lock just Henry makes the save. During the struggle between the three, Bryan leaps to the top of the cage with Show behind; the two struggle for awhile until Bryan wiggles free from Show and hits the floor. Daniel Bryan wins and retains the World Heavyweight Champion, while Big Show is left in the ring annoyed by his loss.

Following a promo for the Elimination Chamber cut by Sheamus, we go to another promo to hype the looming Cena/Rock Match at Wrestlemania. The promo is pretty much covers the respect for Cena, from lovers to haters in his base. Ironically coming from both me and Projektrdm we used to love this guy, we now hate that he got stale and looks like the Hulk Hogan of 2000s. We want the Proto-type and the Doctor of Thuginomics back, not Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect!

The second match on the card is an 8-Divas Tag Match between the teams of Beth Phoenix, Natalya, and the Bellas against Kelly Kelly, Eve, Alicia Fox, and Taminia. Natalya and Taminia start it off, they work well together in ring so it's not too displeasing. Eventually Beth Phoenix and Eve get tagged in, while the commentators mostly speak about the issues with Kane and Zac Ryder. Soon Alicia Fox is tagged in and a Bella twin, before Kelly Kelly gets in the match as everything heats up. All the Divas begin to brawl about outside the ring leading to Kelly Kelly crossbodying everyone from the top rope, and Beth Phoenix tagging herself back in the match to finish off Kelly Kelly with the Glam Slam.

After the quick and easy Divas' Tag Team match, we get clips of Kane destroying Zac Ryder. Then backstage, Ryder is wheeled into the arena where he confronts John Laurinaitis as Eve shows up to tell him as she and Zac head into his locker room. This transitions right to Cena's entrance where he's praised with several boos from the crowd, while Kane gets all the cheers. Kane right from the start overpowers Cena, who tries fighting back with powerful counters. Kane breaks loose from an AA, before continuing his assualt on Cena. After minutes of getting destroyed Cena fights back, leading to a double count-out and them brawling backstage. The fight leads up to Kane breaking into Ryder's locker room, taking Ryder from his room and to the ring. Eve tries to stop Kane, but he doesn't comply  to end up hitting a Tombstone on Ryder and catching Cena for a Chokeslam. Referees and doctors, hit the ring to check on Cena and Ryder before carting Ryder away on a stretcher.

Next we get a promo from the Rock, to hype the Mania match. After the promo we get another match with "the fired" Drew McIntyre facing off with Brodus Clay. McIntyre, is practically enraged with having to face off with Brodus Clay as he goes all "Sinister Scotsman" on Clay's ass. Just Clay, breaks loose and quickly finishes off McIntyre. Following the match Brodus Clay and his back up dancers celebrate in their usual style. Then more promos for Slim Jim and tomorrow's Raw.

The Raw promo, looms the fact that WWE Championship is soon to happen with CM Punk to defend against Dolph Ziggler and John Laurinaitis as the special guest referee/enforcer. The crowd explodes for both Ziggler and Punk, as the match starts off with Laurinaitis throwing out Vickie Guerrero and Punk trying for a quick roll up. They tie it up, with Punk trying to go for quick finishes like trying to lock in the Anaconda Vice. Dolph soon gets the advantage by knocking him from the tope rope and landing several elbow drops. Punk fights back and the two struggle about trying to lock in their submission holds. Ziggler went for a Fame-Asser, only to be countered into a Spiral Bomb a huge highlight in the match. Punk goes for the Shining Wizard/Bulldog combo and GTS but is countered leading to counter after counter. Punk gets out of the counter struggle and goes for the Savage Elbow Drop, getting an unsuccessful pinfall.

The main official gets knocked out, and Laurinaitis checks on him while Punk makes Ziggler tap out to the Anaconda Vice, then rolled up Ziggler for a 3-count without Laurinaitis making the pinfall. Punk hits the GTS and Laurinaitis on accident who still doesn't make the count. Punk goes for another GTS but its countered into the Fame-Asser by Ziggler. Ziggler beats down Punk and goes for the Zig-Zag only to be countered into the final GTS, where Laurinaitis counts the pinfall for Punk. Laurinaitis congraduates Punk and hands over to him the WWE Championship.

Finally we come to the Royal Rumble, where we get the Numbers Tell it All Promo before the actual match can start. The first two participants starting off the Rumble were The Miz and Alex Riley. Riley starts off blazing, trying to eliminate the Miz right away before he himself is eliminated by the Miz, leaving him to wait for the third participant. Entry #3 thou is none other than R-Truth who takes it right to Miz. The two, reverse one another several times as they try eliminating the other as Entry #4 arrives, Cody Rhodes. Rhodes and Miz work on R-Truth, as Justin Gabriel is Entry #5. The four men all square off, as Primo makes his entrance showing off his luchadore style during this time Miz eliminates R-Truth. Just R-Truth pulls Miz out hitting him with his finisher as Mic Foley enters the Rumble at #7 eliminating Primo on entry. Ricardo Rodriguez comes in as 8 entering as Del Rio, while he and Foley eliminate Gabriel. Santino quickly gets in at 9, to eliminate Ricardo, leading to Santino and Foley's battle of the socks as Foley elminiates Epico. Miz and Rhodes then team up to eliminate Foley and Santino.

Kofi Kingston comes in at 11, Jerry "the King" Lawler at 12, and Ezekiel Jackson at 13, during these 3 entries Jerry Lawler is quickly eliminated by Rhodes. Entry 14 is Jinder Mahal, who slowly takes his time to get to the ring as Jackson waits for him to enter, following Jinder Mahal is Great Khali at Entry 15. Khali quick removes Jinder and Jackson from match, as Hunaco takes the ring at 16. Entry 17, is Booker T who goes straight for Cody Rhodes before Khali cuts in. Khali and Booker work on Rhodes, as Kofi saves himself from elimination by using a handstand. Entry 18 is Dolph Ziggler, who is one of my picks to win the Rumble. Entry 19 is the very first Royal Rumble winner, Hacksaw Jim Duggan as the crowd explodes for him. Duggan puts on a great performace only to be eliminated by Rhodes, while Rhodes helps Ziggler eliminate Khali and Booker T.  Entry 20 is sadly Michael Cole, making it a full commentary team to participate in the match.

Entry 21 marked Kharma's return as she helped King and Booker eliminate Cole, then eliminate Hunaco as Ziggler threw her out. Sheamus is comes in at 22, destroying most of the remaining participants before he eliminated Kofi Kingston. 23, is Road Dogg marking his in ring return to the WWE. Entry 24 is Jey Uso, who targets Road Dogg and Miz. Jack Swagger enters the Rumble at 25 leaving 5 men to still enter the Rumble. We know Jericho, Barrett and Orton are to be some of the last 5 men to participate, just who could be our other 2 entries? Entry 26 is Wade Barrett, who comes out to a new entrance theme while he eliminates Road Dogg. Entry 27 is sadly David Otunga, as the Rumble slows down while we near Entry 30 and on that note Orton arrives as Entry 28. Orton destroys everyone and eliminate not just Barrett but Jey Uso.

Leading to our final two entries, Jericho comes in as Entry 29 quickly eliminating David Otunga while Rhodes works on Orton. Then finally our 30th Entry is the Big Show who eliminates Jack Swagger before entering the ring. Then eliminating Rhodes and Miz together with Ziggler following up behind. Orton, Sheamus, Jericho work together to eliminate Big Show, then Jericho threw out Orton leaving just him and Sheamus.

The two finalists battle about with Sheamus overpowering Jericho until he fought out of the Celtic Cross to try eliminate Sheamus. Sheamus manages to get back into the ring, to get locked into the Walls of Jericho. Sheamus fights out leading to them battling atop the ropes before getting back in once again. Sheamus powers through to reverse the Codebreaker, and hit Jericho with the Brogue Kick winning the Royal Rumble. Now the wait begins to see what title Sheamus will challenge for at Wrestlemania XXVIII! Also stay tuned for the Special WRW episode coming this weekend, for our thoughts and views on the Royal Rumble.
